C. Webb & Sons Butchers

Overview

A busy butcher’s shop on the main high street in the Cheshire town of Northwich, C. Webb & Sons is located in a three-storey building which needed repairs to the roof and facades. The business needed to continue to operate as usual throughout the project and safe access had to be maintained for both customers and pedestrians.

Our Project

Working for the construction contractor carrying out the work, the HD Scaffolding team erected a scaffold for the full height of the building on three sides – the high street frontage, the rear and the side elevation, where there is access via an alley.

We obtained a council permit to enable us to erect the scaffold on the high street and carried out the installation work during quiet times to minimise disruption and prevent any interruption in customer footfall for the butcher’s shop. The HD scaffolding team also liaised with the shop team to make sure they knew what was happening and how it would affect them.

The scaffold included a working lift at each level and Heras fencing was installed at ground level to ensure the safety of pedestrians. Debris netting was also put in place to safeguard against the risk of items falling from high level.
